Lincoln Aviator 2025: A Detailed Overview
When the Lincoln Aviator was last updated for the 2020 model year, transitioning to a rear-wheel-drive platform and ditching the MKX name in favor of reviving the Aviator marque, many applauded the move. The luxurious rear-wheel-drive SUV put Lincoln back on a track to compete with more prestigious brands in the premium SUV segment. Unlike the more mass-market Ford Explorer, on which the Aviator is based, the need for three-row seating capacity for hauling families is less critical for a premium SUV like this; its aim is more as a status symbol and luxury statement than merely a people mover. Emphasis is placed on the Aviator's ability to be engaging to drive, swift, performance-oriented, and luxurious in feel.
Looks Equally Good
That Lincoln hasn't changed much in the styling department suits us just fine; the Aviator looks fantastic, and the updates and modernization to the front end bring it closer in line with the rest of Lincoln's lineup (take a look at the new Nautilus to see what we mean). The grille looks a bit different, but not by much. The rest of the car looks the same, except for the newly available black roof and Jet Package options and their black trims. It looked good as a 2024 model, and the Aviator looks just as good as a 2025 model.
Changes in Interior and Technology

Changes to the Aviator's interior include some new colors and finishes, a slightly revised dashboard with a larger 13.2-inch touchscreen, more controls moved onto this touchscreen, and a complete overhaul of the multimedia system. Firstly, the colors and materials make the already impressive, distinctive Lincoln interior even better. The key shifter selector is still there, and it's perhaps the only button-style shifter we're okay with using, as it's genuinely artistic. Leather, metal, and wood look stunning. The new Black Label Invitation package especially fantasizes, and it easily holds its own against offerings from European luxury brands, perhaps even surpassing some with exquisite detailing.
The updated Lincoln Aviator 2025 offers luxurious design, advanced technologies, and an enhanced interior, making it competitive in the premium SUV segment.
Pricier, But That's Okay

Yes, the Aviator gets a serious price bump, but that's not uncommon these days. The difference here is that for this price, you're getting a lot. The starting price goes up by about $5000, according to Lincoln, but the list of standard features added to the base Premiere trim is lengthy. The Premiere now comes with the BlueCruise semi-autonomous driving system, adaptive suspension, panoramic sunroof, heated and cooled front seats, and much more. Clearly, these were all things that all Aviator customers were adding anyway, so for the sake of streamlining production and simplifying ordering, they're now included.
Concluding Thoughts on the New Lincoln Aviator 2025
- Luxurious design and advanced technologies make the Aviator 2025 competitive in the premium SUV segment.
- Despite the price increase, the vehicle offers an extensive list of standard features, making it an attractive choice.
- Updated interior and technologies, including the Android Automotive-based multimedia system, give the Aviator 2025 a modern and luxurious appeal.
