Is a refund of my deposit possible or not?

The security deposit is fully refundable in accordance with the Deposit Policy, provided the participant has:

  • no active bids;
  • no pending vehicle purchases;
  • all invoices paid with no outstanding balance.

If the buyer has an active bid or has purchased a vehicle, the deposit is returned after the auction ends or after the vehicle has been paid for and removed from the auction lot.

The bid limit is updated once the deposit is refunded. If the participant wishes to bid again, a new security deposit must be submitted.

Deposits made by wire transfer are returned by check (for US and Canadian participants) or by wire transfer (for international participants). Deposits made by debit or credit card are a temporary authorization hold, not a charge. Once Carfast confirms the release, the buyer's bank removes the hold — the buyer will not see a refund, as no funds were actually charged.

Log in to your account.

Click the "Deposit" button at the top of the page.

Select the "Transaction History" section.

Important: if the auction is still ongoing and the buyer has an active bid or an unpaid invoice, the card hold will not be released. Once the hold is removed, the participant's buying power resets to zero.
